What begins as healthy confidence, self-respect, and a recognition of our abilities can gradually expand into something larger. Success, authority, validation, and the absence of challenge allow ego to grow unchecked. The danger is not that ego exists, but that it slowly shifts from supporting our actions to shaping how we see ourselves and others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This pattern becomes visible in every area of life. At work, confidence can turn into dominance, collaboration into control, and leadership into the need to always be right. In relationships, the desire to understand is replaced by the desire to be acknowledged, making connection secondary to proving a point. On a broader level, unchecked ego creates systems that resist feedback, discourage correction, and protect authority rather than truth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The deeper challenge is that ego grows most when it is never questioned. It begins to assume permanence, believing that our position, influence, or identity is secure and central. This creates the illusion that we are more important than the roles we occupy or the successes we achieve. Like anything that expands without boundaries, ego eventually loses proportion.
